artlogicThank you for looking at Mystery Grid #2. The download is in a zipped folder and contains several options to help you or your students grow artistically.
In the folder you will get the following:
* Four different value variations of the image.
* Two versions, a normal and extra detail, consisting of only two values (black and white shapes). This is great for your beginning students when working on recreating edges and shapes.
* Two versions, a normal and extra detail, consisting of three values (black, gray, and white shapes).
* Two versions, a normal and extra detail, consisting of five values (black, dark gray, gray, light gray, and white shapes). This is a great challenge for students to work with a range of five values and develop consistency in shading and matching values.
* A gray-scale version of the original image for your upper level students to develop their realistic shading skills.
Each of the versions above comes separated into 3 grid sizes.
* An 8x10 version for use with the printable grid that can be cut to fit most 8x10” frames for display. (Reference sheets print on one page, front and back)
* A 12x18 version for use with 12x18” size paper when students are creating their own grid on larger paper. (Reference sheets print on three pages, front and back)
* A 16x20 version for use with 16x20” canvases if you want to turn this into a painting project. (Reference sheets print on four pages, front and back)

* A printable version of an 8x10, 12x18, and 16x20 grid for 8.5x11” paper
One quick tip is that I try to encourage students not to draw directly on the grid. Instead, I have them place the grid underneath of a clean sheet of paper. By doing this they can see the grid and draw their art work on a clean sheet. When they finish, there is nothing to erase or distract from their finished piece of art.
